History
A year
before the establishment of Medisol in 2001, the
founders of the company both began working for the
ambulance service in Goes. Edwin Roelse already had
experience as a web designer at the municipal health
services in Zeeland and Pieter Joziasse had been working
as a web designer at the Humage employment agency.
On 11
May 2001, Edwin and Pieter decided to join forces and
set up the company Medisol, an abbreviation of Medical
Internet Solutions. From its inception,
Medisol specialized in the medical care and emergency
services sector.
By
mid-2004, Medisol’s main focus was on the rapidly
growing e-Commerce market. This was also the year that
Medisol started selling AED equipment.
The
firm grew rapidly, allowing the first preparations to be
made in 2005 for taking the step of changing its legal
form from a commercial partnership to a limited
liability company. On 22 December 2006, all the
commercial activities were duly transferred to Medisol
BV.
During
2007 and 2008, the main focus was on further
specialization in AEDs and related products such as CPR
manikins.
Medisol
started its first online webshop abroad in 2009 with the
French DAEshop.fr. A second French webshop and a new
webshop for the Belgium market were set up in 2010. This
approach will be continued over the coming years and
further internationalization will be realized.
